Autumn the Covergirl

Just got some pictures back from Autumn's Dance team. Words cannot express the fear that these pics cause to flow through my veins... Hope and pray.

Halloween 2008

Wow! Can you believe it! From Angel to Rocker in nuttin flat. Aubrey's costume was killer!

Pretty darn scary for sure. Don't worry, the holes closed up in about a week. Well, mostly closed up... She's young and it will heal, I hope.

Jake was a SWAT Officer.

I decided not to dress up at all...

This was the first Halloween in 10 years where it was actually WARM! Yes, ok, it rained a little, but it WASN'T cold. I took Aubrey and Jake out for a long loop

Best 2-6 Team in the History of Football

OK, the season ended and once again with heart break. We played very well, but had a few penalties and a few not so good plays that stole our victory. Joey had one of his better games. This team was the best tackling team we've faced and they met Joey at just about every turn. But he kept his legs moving and would tough out 3-4-5 yards dragging people with him. Yes, dragging. He had a great TD catch as well (I think he surprised even himself!!).

Nice little run for Joey:

Breaking some tackles along the way...

No. 8 coming up to make a nice tackle!

Awesome TD grab by Joe Ocho!

If Joey could have caught this one... but it would have been a miracle!

Wish Joey was playing Bball because I really enjoyed spending time with him and the boys. Maybe I'll coach bball anyway...

Lindon Vikings Update

OK, a week ago Thursday, we had a horrible game. We played Juan Diego and they scored 4 TDs in the first half - two by a girl!!! Yes, but she was taller and faster than most of our guys! Still - A GIRL! I had to yell at one of our guys for tackling her "nicely". :) So we came out in the second half and completely dominated! Not enough to win the game, but enough to leave with our pride in tact.

Then we played Saratoga Springs the following Monday and again we dominated - But it was COLD. So cold that ... Well, check out this video of Joey:

Easily he would have gotten 20 yards. Unbelievable. But wait... Check out this one:

The film ran out right the play right before Joey's awesome interception. He read the QB really well, and broke on the ball perfectly. Last game of the season is this Wednesday. What on earth am I going to do with all of my free time?!

Aubrey's Baptism

Aubrey looked absolutely beautiful - and that was before she was baptised! She melted her daddy's heart. But, that's kinda standard fare. Since she is my little guppy, she knew she would like to be in the water, so she stuck her little hand up in the air so that she could be baptised twice! OK, and Dad neglected to say "of" in "of the Holy Ghost" so either way we were going to do it again! The water was warm and Aubrey was very happy to be dunked twice! Dad didn't get a lot of practice baptizing over on his mission in Germany, so this was a new thing for him. Wade and Morgan were both able to make it, as was "grandpa Clark and grandma Jean".
Here are some pics.

Heartbreaking loss to PG

Our guys played very well, but we had a few breakdowns on defence that lead to touchdowns. Our D would string together three great plays and then have a brain fart and give up a big play. We lost 18-20. Joey only played about 1/2 of the plays because he's been having real issues with his achilles tendon. He came out in the first quarter and then didn't really play much until the 4th. Without him in the game, we kinda fall apart. On offense he is the 2 in 1-2 punch and without him in there, 1 gets pounded because they key on him. Our line was awful! Here's a good run by Joey. 8 hard-fought yards.

We play again on Tuesday night. I don't know if Joey will be able to play, but I hope so.

Joey as a Lindon Viking

This is a clip from the Lindon Vikings against the PG Vikings. Joey had several nice runs in this game. He plays wing/tail back. He's number 8 and both of these are out of the wing formation.

This one is an even better run, about 20 yrds with a good stiff arm and a great block, but it's pretty small! He got down to the 3 yard line but didn't make it in. :( Go Joey!

We play again tonight so I'll see if I can get some more footage. It's a lot of fun for me, and I think for Joey too. Curtis Brown is a friend of the other coach and so he came to help out and we kinda gave him the reigns. He revamped the offense and is doing a great job. The kids are loving it. IN case you didn't know, Curtis is the all-time leading rusher for BYU. Great guy.
